Can anyone recommend a free anti-virus engine that stays current with all the new viruses? I am trying to setup up my mail gateway to check for viruses using Amavis. Thanks, Eric

Well, two hours ago I learnd about the existence of clam AntiVirus (www.clamav.net) and haven't yet found the time to actually check it out, but it sounds interesting (and quite fast as far as updates are concerned). Ciao Jörg -- Joerg Mayer <jmayer@loplof.de> We are stuck with technology when what we really want is just stuff that works. Some say that should read Microsoft instead of technology.

Hello Eric, you may use Clamav - http://www.clamav.net/ & f-prot - http://www.f-prot.com & AntiVir - http://www.hbedv.de/ All of them can be integrated in Amavis. Chris

Hello Eric,
you may use
Clamav - http://www.clamav.net/
&
f-prot - http://www.f-prot.com
&
AntiVir - http://www.hbedv.de/
ClamAV is free for all users (donation accepted - please donate if you're commercial!) F-Prot is free for individual use only. AntiVir is also free for individual use only. Tom.
Thanks, it seems that ClamAV has some good momentum and is free. Can anyone give me some pointers on how to get Amavis & ClamAV to scan Postfix for viruses? Most of the documentation I've read is pretty confusing. I am hoping it is pretty straight forward and just involves a few uncommented lines. Thanks, Eric Tom Knight wrote:
