firewall with samba-server
I have a samba-server running on a suse-linux-system. It was necessary to turn the firewall off when I tried to install samba. Now samba works and I want to switch the firewall on again. But I can`t find the right service in /etc/services for samba. I need to know this service for the firewall configuration file.

Hi, if you do not want to share files from/to the outside of the firewall or configure samba from outside, there should be no changes necessary. Nmbd uses port 137, smbd uses port 139 and I do not know if you need netbios-dgm at port 138. To configure Samba with swat you need port 901, but it is not a good idea to have this open to the world!
