Hi, I just installed 7.1 on a new machine and became aware of the fact that in this version the kernel nfs daemon has not been compiled with the netgroup support unlike 7.0. Is there any particular reason to this? I am using the stock 2.2.18 kernel that came on the CD. Is the updated 2.2.19 different? Is there a simple way to fix it? Thanks, Selcuk

Which config option are you talking about?

The config options for 2.2.18 and 2.2.19 are almost identical.

After poking around a bit. The problem seems to be in 'nfs-utils' package. Specifically, exportfs. It isn't compiled with the netgroup support. I have some machines listed in the /etc/netgroup as a group called 'trusted'. Then I put '/ @trusted(rw)' in the /etc/exports file and when I start the the nfs server then I get: 'exportfs: netgroup support not compiled in' message with 7.1. With 7.0, everything was working fine. Thanks, Selcuk On Mon, 21 May 2001, Hubert Mantel wrote:

A fixed package for "nfsutils" on 7.1 is at: ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/update/7.1/n1/nfsutils-0.2.1-20.i386.rpm -- with kind regards (mit freundlichem Grinsen), Ruediger Oertel (ro@suse.de) ---------------------------------------------------------- sleep: Resource temporarily unavailable
