ICQ over Linux firewall with ipchains
Hello, We have set up a Linux firewall with kernel 2.2.16 and ipchains. While everthing else works fine, we have problems to establish a client-client connection between iqc2k clients (i.e. for chat requests). Is there a known solution for this? We already looked at the icq module for ipchains, but that does not work for icq2k. Setting up socks instead of ipchains is also not an option in our opinion. Any help is very much appreciated!!! Thanx in advance, Charlie & Dirk
We have set up a Linux firewall with kernel 2.2.16 and ipchains. Kernels older than 2.2.18-ow4 (see www.openwall.com/linux for the ow4-patch) or 2.2.19 are not recommended. You should upgrade immediatly.

ipmasqadm autofw -A -h 192.168.10.2 -r tcp 28000 28500 (where the 192.x.x.x is the ip of your windows machine). Then go to ICQ/Preferences/Connections/User/Not Using Proxy/Use the following TCP listen port for incoming event: from 28000 to 28500 hth Markus -- _____________________________ /"\ Markus Gaugusch ICQ 11374583 \ / ASCII Ribbon Campaign markus@gaugusch.dhs.org X Against HTML Mail / \

BTW, did I missed a annoucement or is still no upgrade RPM available? A lot of work: kernel, modules, ... Hope SuSE will not forget to upgrade freeswan.rpm. oki, Steffen -- Dieses Schreiben wurde maschinell erstellt, es trägt daher weder Unterschrift noch Siegel.
