When I remember correctly the bind on 7.0 has exploitable bugs which allow attackers to execute arbitrary code. During attack the named stops working because its executing a shell. Might be that the attacker doesnt get the offset right and tries and tries. Update to newest bind and see whether it helps. I had the same problem about 2 months ago. You need to upgrade your bind and all will work fine. If yuou want, i can send you the new version.
