Hi list, To update to cron-3.0.1-296 I used rpm -Uhv cron-3.0.1-335.src.rpm. Seemingly it went off, but for rpm -qa | grep cron I still get back the old version number. What was missed? You didn't read "man rpm" or its dead tree equivalent. Look at what "rpm -ql cron*.src.rpm" writes out and you'll notice your misthinking. And no, this is not "a bit" OT. You installed a source (.src.) rpm file, try installing the binary :)
