OpenSSH for sparc doesn't honour tcp wrappers
OpenSSH for sparc doesn't seem to be compiled against libwrap (I have crosspased this to both the Sparc and the Security Mailing lists, as I think it applies to both..) # rpm -q openssh openssh-2.1.1p1-22 # uname -a Linux jardia 2.2.16 #1 Wed Aug 9 08:49:44 GMT 2000 sparc unknown Any chance of a notice when a new rpm is available? This is all most certainly correct. It is part of the reason why there is an update package ftp://ftp.suse.de/pub/sparc/update/7.0/sec1/openssh-2.3.0p1-0.sparc.rpm on the ftp server. The other reason is a whole set of security problems in versions before 2.3.0.

Well, I was mistakenly using ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/linux/suse/sparc/update/7.0/sec1/ as my primary download location, as I was under the impression SuSE preferred that people didn't download from their link. The website also states that ftp.gwdg.de is the "primary" mirror, so I expected it to be up to date.. -Nix PS. The correct url for the file is: ftp://ftp.suse.de/pub/suse/sparc/update/7.0/sec1/openssh-2.3.0p1-0.sparc.rpm
