Redirection to a Private network address on a firewall
Hi All If you set-up a DMZ with a private network address. Is it possible to configure IPCHAINS to redirect SQL server client requests & HTTP requests from the Internet to a Server sitting in the DMZ with a private network address. Internet ------Legal IP Address----|-----------Internal Private Network 10.x.x.x | | DMZ Private Network 192.168.x.x Thanks in advance Steven
not with ipchains AFAIK unless your server is also the router. you could try installing a port-forwarder next to ipchains, or look into more advanced firewalling/proxy/router packets. martin madduck@madduck.net (greetings from the heart of the sun)
In marc's firewall there is a facility for doing redirects of the sort you want make sure you've installed the firewals package and then edit /etc/rc.config.d/firewall.rc.config it should have all you need. On Fri, 13 Oct 2000, MaD dUCK wrote:
