I think that Derek has made a VERY important point when he said:

The newest RPM with the bugfix (and with any SuSE-specific patches/enhancements) can be found at <url>.
I personally like the SuSE distribution BUT I would really like to know when and where to get the SuSE patch to a known security bug. I have been waiting for such an announcement regarding Proftp for some time. Indeed I could have down loaded the source, compiled it....etc but it would not have had the "SuSE seal of approval" so to speak. I value the expertise at SuSE and I would like to know when THEY release an rpm. So SuSE could you please announce security patches to this group (and where they are located). regards Tim Williams
