I have just been online using SuSE 8.1 pro to upgrade Apache to 1.3.28. I manually selected Apache upgrade. Yast went through the motions of downloading and installing Apache. SuSEconfig did it's thing. Rebooted machine and checked version number: linux:/ # httpd -v Server version: Apache/1.3.26 (Linux/SuSE) Server built: Oct 21 2002 17:06:49 Where did the upgrade go to? I was expecting YOU to install the upgrade over the old httpd binary. Regards - Keith Roberts

I have just been online using SuSE 8.1 pro to upgrade Apache to 1.3.28. There is no official 1.3.28 apache package for SuSE 8.1. Even 8.2 contains only apache 1.3.27. As recently discussed, SuSE will only update the version that was delivered initially with your distribution, in order to keep possibilities low that anything is broken after the update.
linux:/ # httpd -v Server version: Apache/1.3.26 (Linux/SuSE) Server built: Oct 21 2002 17:06:49 This looks fine, the last YOU apache update is from Oct-25 2002.
