#useradd armando #passwd armando but when I try to connect with armando I have this message... su: warning: cannot change directory to /home/armando:No such file or directory You have to use useradd -m armando to create the home directory too. This is not really security related, and I think that a suse-sysadmin list would be the right place for this (although it isn't suse specific, but it would move load off suse-SECURITY I think.)

Hi there Suppose you are new to this list. 1. Your question is _not_ security related (OT) Please use an other mailinglist suse-linux or something like that 2. Just read the manpages befor you post to a list. (man useradd) 3. Try www.google.de if you can't find anything in the man pages. 4. *lol* read the errormessage carefully ;-) 5. Just create that f***** directory. 6. don't forget to make a chown -R armando /home/armando And now have some fun ;-) Greetings Daniel Lord
yeah ... create the directory ... but not with root ... armando will have no
rights for it ... or create it with root ... and use chown ... but read the
man pages to chown ..
... or completly reinstall everything ;-)

Definitely.
5. Just create that f***** directory.
Even if offtopic, if you give advice, make it good advice... ;-) Better make that step 5 above: 'cp -a /etc/skel /home/armando'
6. don't forget to make a chown -R armando /home/armando
