Hello does anybody of the SuSE guys already knows how long there will be security updates for the new distris of opensuse? 2 years as usual, just 1 year :-( or maybe 3 years :-) ( I would prefer only one new dristri every year and a lifetime of 3 years instead of 2 distris/a and just 2 years lifetime. but that' s just my two cents). And another question: who will produce and distribute the security updates (and make the quality assurance)? -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Guido Tschakert

At the current time, openSUSE will use the same RPM set as the SUSE Linux 10.0 distribution and so receive the same kind of support and security fixes (2 years). In the next stages of openSUSE with more package differences this will likely be handled differently, but this is not decided yet. Ciao, Marcus
