Hi, anybody ever seen something like this: ---snip--- Feb 6 20:30:07 deLonghi kernel: eth0: Transmit timed out: status 0050 0000 at 32045118/32045132 command 000c0000. Feb 6 20:30:07 deLonghi kernel: eth0: Trying to restart the transmitter... ---snip--- Is that security relevant? Best Dan

hi, this is not security relevant. i have seen those messages with a linksys 10/100 card, that uses tulip driver, when it was connected back to back (without a hub). getting a hub eliminated the message. -alexm On Sun, 6 Feb 2000, Daniel Amthor wrote:

It happened to me with an Intel EtherExpress 100 and many times the ethernet hanged up completly (usually under high load) until I had rebooted he system. I solved it getting an updated driver and recompiling the kernel with that driver. You can get updated drivers from: http://cesdis.gsfc.nasa.gov/linux/drivers/eepro100.html -- Bernat Ginard Lladó mailto:bernat@kaos.es http://www.kaos.es
