FW: [suse-security] ppp0 & SuSEfirewall2 - restart firewall
I don't understand your question. Why don't you look if they are there or not?
Hi Uli My problem is when my server restarts and I dial in nothing works, then I must first restart my firewall with /sbin/SuSEfirewall2 stop & /sbin/SuSEfirewall2 start wile online (dialed in) then only can I talk to the other PC's on my LAN. What I need to know is, can I automate this or better prevent in ? Thanks Andre Vorster South Africa
this looks like susefw2 only binds(whatever the terminus technicus is here, but you get the drift) to interfaces that are up ? can someone confirm this? suggestion, maybe you write a shellscript that does things in this order, bring ppp0 up, then (re)start fw, maybe test if you bring ppp0down after that and up again if the gateway still works. ===== Mit freundlichen Gruessen Patrick Thempel mail:patrick_thempel@yahoo.com __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? It should be done in /etc/ppp/ip-up. When the interface gets set, it should restart the firewall to take the new ip into account. AFAIK, this should already be done with SuSEfirewall2's install. Check /etc/ppp/ip-up. Are you sure your config is correct?
