I'm describing the process that my company did. We switched from IE to Firefox and blocked inet access to IE via our squid proxy.

Yeah, we use the same configuration in our company and it works fine. You can also allow some sites to reach by IE (but I don't recomment it :-) But I have a warning! If you have users in your network with administration rights on their computers (which I also don't recomment) they are able to make IE announce another browser name in their http communication to get through sqid. Naturally, as it is microsoft, it is a registry key which you have to change ;-) guido BTW, thanks to Markus for his great tool fou4s, it saved me a lot of time and works vry fine.
