Hello, I installed amavis as per Rainer Link's advice however now after scanning the sendmail takes on the uid of the sender with a configuration file of sendmail.orig.cf whcih brings delivery problems since only root is allowed to write to the mailqueue I have had to make mqueue 777 in order for mail to go. Which is totally undesirable. Someone please help. I tried what it says in BUGS and changed the mlocal lines in both file to add an o and remove the S but things still do not work.

Sorry, but your mail do confuse me in some way. Which configuration do you use with sendmail? The one, as described in doc/amavis.txt which changes only the Mlocal entry or the configuration as decribed in README.sendmail, which uses two sendmail.cf files and needs changes in Rulset 0 and a new Mamavis defintion? Did you read the example configuration in README.sendmail, too? Btw, which sendmail release do you use? (I add CC to our amavis-user mailing lists as suse-security already has a lot of traffic ...) best regards, Rainer Link -- Rainer Link, SuSE GmbH, eMail: link@suse.de, Web: www.suse.de Developer of A Mail Virus Scanner (AMaViS): http://amavis.org/ Founder of Linux AntiVirus Project: http://lavp.sourceforge.net/
