Hi all, I've got a couple of samba servers running and some unauthorized users have been attempting to log in. Is there a way to get samba to log the IP addresses from bad login attempts. I can't find any advice on this in the docs. Have you checked /var/log/log.smb ? On our machines a denied connection attempt looks like this: [2000/10/18 19:35:37, 0] lib/access.c:check_access(262) Denied connection from student1.xxx.edu (xxx.xxx.169.67) [2000/10/18 19:35:37, 1] smbd/process.c:process_smb(608) Connection denied from xxx.xxx.169.67 (Provided you have an "allow hosts" line in smb.conf) Regards, Martin -- Martin Leweling Institut fuer Planetologie, WWU Muenster Wilhelm-Klemm-Str. 10, 48149 Muenster, Germany E-Mail (work): lewelin@uni-muenster.de
