I have noted that the gnpg people have made a new release that fix several potential security problems. Will SuSE provide an upgraded RPM or should I get the tar file from the gnpg people??

Yes, we will make updates available. It takes a few days, and there will not be a seperate announcement for them. We are currently testing the new version.
