Hi, I have noticed the following data with scslog: # lsmod Module Size Used by nls_iso8859-1 2236 0 (autoclean) rtl8139 12320 2 (autoclean) serial 42932 1 (autoclean) scslog 135613033 # At this stage, kernel logging does not appear anymore - and sometimes one of my eth inerfaces hangs as well. Should I live with that and keep rebooting my (6.3) SuSE box each day or so ? That figure comes from my 'firewall' machine, but the 'proxy' shows the same. *uff* That sucks. :-\ on my proxy the value is alot higher, and the machine runs smoothly, hm. the new scslog includes a module calles scsmkrmv. it sets the used counter to zero, so it's possible to unload scslog.o. maybe that helps, but take care, that could hang you machine!!!
rebooting my (6.3) SuSE box each day or so ? That figure comes from my
rebooting isn't a real solution. maybe you could send me some more infos (log entries) and i'll try to fix it. (if you are a bit familiar with LKM programming, then just remove the inc. of the used-counter and recompile scslog; as a temporary patch) Thanks for that info.
