Hi there, I want to filter out some mail-attachments on our mailserver for security reasons. Any attachments ending with .vbs, .exe, .com and so on should be bounced when they come from a remote host and are addressed to a local user. We use SuSE 7.1 (Kernel 2.2.18), Sendmail 8.11 and Amavis 0.1.2 with avplinux as virusscanner. The incoming mails are fetched by fetchmail using pop3 as protocol. (Fetchmail is running as root and fetches all incoming mails for our domain) Any ideas how to create such filter rules? Thanks in advance, Christian --- MfG, Chr. Well, AMaViS 0.2.2 will ship with some basic content filtering support. I'm currently working on a -pre1 release which will be put on ftp.suse.com/pub/people/link in the next days (there's already some CVS stuff but a lot of things have been changed in the last days). But, hum, with sendmail 8.11 I would sugget to use sendmail's libmilter feature which will be supported by the upcoming amavis-perl-11 release and of course our new amavisd branch. Well, developing / testing three different branches can be a very difficult task :-( [that's why the old amavis 0.2.x branch will be unmaintained after the final 0.2.2 release]

Any ideas how to create such filter rules? Hum, no ideas, currently. Sorry.

Well, a great alternative to Amavis is "inflex" ;) Greetings, -- Jörg Henner Fon: +49 (7 11) 2 85 19 05 LiHAS - Servicebuero Stuttgart Fax: +49 (7 11) 5 78 06 92 Adrian Reyer & Jörg Henner GbR Mail: lihas@lihas.de Linux, Netzwerke, Consulting & Support http://lihas.de/
