Re: [suse-security] SuSE Security Announcement: vim/gvim (SuSE-SA :2001:12)
Now this is funny (well, not really) I would expect that YOU (Yast Online Update) would find this security update (as well as the previously posted xntpd, mc &c &c) but it doesn't.
Well, mine found the updated list, and downloaded the packages for mc and vim. It wasn't able to DL the xntpd update however, Y.O.U. got a "file not found" error. Which ftp server did you use? I had to use ftp.suse.com because on th others all I got was "file not found" errors for either the update list or the packages... Maybe the mirrors still have to syncronize themselves, with the exception of xntpd (that's NOT available even on ftp.suse.com). Ciao, Roberto.

Please see twice before you claim something like this. The xntp-4.0.99f-34.i386.rpm from the i386/update/7.1 tree was removed last night because the package was built again. Anyway, I've put it there again so that you can use the one from the announcement as well as the new one. So this is corrected. Thanks to Wolfgang Zenker for reporting this earlier today. I can't currently see any inconsistencies. Roman.

why that?
last night because the package was built again.
rebuilt? What's the reason? I think people that used the older version needs to upgrade to that new build, ain't? Or should upgrade maybe? oki, Steffen -- Dieses Schreiben wurde maschinell erstellt, es trägt daher weder Unterschrift noch Siegel.
I am experiencing a strang tripwire error message and can't find any documentation explaining it: error message: olddbasefile_load: parse error (nfields=2)!>> 001.10 40755 962882 2 0 0 4 after running: tripwire -c tw.config -d tw.computer_db how i got there: - created initial database - updated database after installing new software - (possibly) changed tw.config file by accident - tried another update, which produced the above error i suspected that by accidentaly changing the config file i made my database unusable, and did the following to reproduce the error: - created new initial database - changed tw.config file - did consitency check -> no errors (just a list of files that had changed) thanks for any help, .ps
found first part of the answer (still looking for second): i believe the problem hast to do with running twdb_check.pl i had used that tool to adopt the database to the changes in my config file. when i did the same to my test db i was able to reproduce the error. does anyone know how to correctly use this tool (or not use it at all?) thanks, .ps alter ego wrote:
