Hei Olafur,
I downloaded fwlogwatch as recommended and got it to work. Now my problem is that scp does not seem to be installed on my linux boxes (to copy log files from FW to webserver). Where can I download it from?
--> It is part of the openssh package. On my server, I get:
rpm -q --whatprovides /usr/bin/scp openssh-3.4p1-78
Which version of SSH do you have installed ? What does "rpm -qa | grep -i ssh" tells you ? HTH, Armin
Downloaded ssh2 straight from ssh.com, no rpm file just uncompiled stuff. Tried compiling but got error on ./configure "Configure error: no acceptable cc found in path". Could not find rpm package at ssh.com so then I tried openSsh from openBSD and found a v3.5 rpm. Downloaded and ran but must have bothced it somehow. Get no response on scp or man scp. Any hints? What's the issue? OpenSSH is included with the SuSE distro. You should not have to get an RPM from somewhere else or download source. It's on the CD under one of the sec directories. In fact, I have almost always seen installed by default. - Herman On Tue, 17 Dec 2002, Olafur Gardarsson wrote: ->Downloaded ssh2 straight from ssh.com, no rpm file just uncompiled ->stuff. Must have missed it? I'll take another look. Thanks, Oli -----Original Message----- From: Herman L. How did you manage to install a BSD rpm on Linux ? I thought even different linux distribution rpms are not always compatible with each other!!! cheers Eduard __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Hi Eduard,
Nah.. BSD rpm didn't work out. Ended up digging it up from the SuSE CD.
Works fine but I'm trying to figure out how to make it do the unattended
trick. The whole thing with public/private keys is confusing me to bits.
Need help on that. Been reading instructions on the internet so far but
no joy yet.
I have used rpm's though, worked for fwlogwatch.
Regards,
Oli
