Hello list, does anyone know, how can I show dotted(hidden) files in a ftpclient. Users on my server with vsftpd should can access files like .htaccess. Thanks in advance Mario

I'm using SuSE 8.1 with vsftp and I see the hidden files and can transfer them. Maybe its only a ftp-client problem... What client software do you use? Regards Christian
Hi Cristian, yes it's a client problem. The LIST command on more than one ftp-ptogramm produces an output without hidden files and a a ls -a command in dos-box shows the right output but is not implemented in most ftp-clients like leechftp, ws-ftp. I'm using Suse 8.1. Cu Mario

yeah - the common problem. with cuteftp there is a workaround: set a remote filter on the view: .* with leechftp i also don't know a solution, ws-ftp I don't use. I think you have to have a look for a better ftp-client. Maybe you'll find one at tucows. I use kbear (on linux) and in the actual version it shows the hidden files. Or try winscp :-) (but then you need a valid shell and SSH-support -but it's safe!) Christian

Hello Markus, thanks for your hint with filezilla. It's a very good tool. Nice. Mario
