Update to Apache 1.3.17-0 (SuSE 6.3)
Hi all, while using SuSE 6.3 I updated the Apache to Version 1.3.17-0 from FTP-Server. After updating the packages on our systems I 've got an error message while restarting the apache with "rcapache restart": rcapache: /etc/rc_status: no such command or file There is no file /etc/rc_status. For what is it ? Do I need it ? After removing this program call out of the startup script, the restart works. Hope somebody can answer my question. Bye Holger
SuSE has a broken Apache update on their ftp site for 6.3 (and I believe 6.4). They were supposed to be fixing it but I haven't seen any updates appear. As for the missing rc_status file, you should check the archives of this mailing list. Someone from SuSE posted the rc_status file about the end of Feb or I believe you can use the one from the 7.x version (get from the ftp site). After removing this program call out of the startup script, the restart works.
Hope somebody can answer my question.
