Hi, I just tried to install AppArmor on a SuSE Linux 10.0 System, but without success. YAST2 does not offer me any packages when searching for AppArmor and/or Subdomain. So, the question is, is AppArmor only available in SLES or in the Novell Desktop System? Happy Day. Thorsten

AppArmor is *included* in SuSE Linux 10.0, so attempting to install AppArmor is likely to fail. What error message did you get? Crispin -- Crispin Cowan, Ph.D. http://crispincowan.com/~crispin/ Director of Software Engineering, Novell http://novell.com

I started Yast2 -> Software -> Install Software and was searching for packages with the keywords "AppArmor" and "subdomain", without success. I did an online install and used the server http://195.135.221.134, with /pub/opensuse/distribution/SL-10.0-OSS/inst-source/ as install source. When I looked manually into this directory, and even can't find any AppArmor related packages! Any hints? Happy Day. Thorsten

YaST -> Novel AppArmor -> {Choice of Seven Actions} From there, you're on your own. I know nothing of AppArmor beyond its obvious presence in the YaST main category display.
Happy Day.
After three flat tires on one little 53 mile ride, it's a little late for that...

There is not a single AppArmor related package installed on the machine in question: linux:~ # uname -a Linux linux 2.6.13-15-default #1 Tue Sep 13 14:56:15 UTC 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux linux:~ # rpm -qa | grep subdomain linux:~ # as already mentioned, I can't even search any of the AppArmor packages.

I have this: % uname -a Linux twain 2.6.13-15-smp #1 SMP Tue Sep 13 14:56:15 UTC 2005 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux % rpm -qa |egrep -i domain subdomain-parser-common-1.2-35_imnx_suse subdomain-leaf-cert-1.2-4 subdomain-docs-1.2-8_imnx_suse subdomain-profiles-1.2-13_imnx_suse subdomain-parser-demo-1.2-35_imnx_suse subdomain-utils-1.2-21_imnx_suse yast2-subdomain-1.2-11_imnx % % rpm -qa |egrep -i armor % I don't have "mod-change-hat" -- "AppArmor change_hat module for apache2" installed. Only the two "...-parser-..." and the mod-change-hat modules are native code, others are all "noarch."
as already mentioned, I can't even search any of the AppArmor packages.
All the packages mentioned above come from the SuSE / Novell commercial 10.0 DVD. Randall Schulz

AppArmor is not included in the OSS version of Suse Linux because it has a non-free license. Cheers nordi
