samba-client dependency problem

One of the SuSE security updates recently published has a dependency problem: # rpm -Fhv samba-client-2.2.3a-171.i386.patch.rpm file /usr/lib/samba/smbwrapper.so from install of samba-client-2.2.3a-171 conflicts with file from package samba-2.2.3a-169 # rpm -qf /usr/lib/samba/smbwrapper.so samba-2.2.3a-169 samba-client-2.2.3a-169 This is on an 8.0 system. Is it OK to force this update? I think I've read somewhere, that 8.1 has the samba packages divided into client/server, whereas 8.0 has one package for all (or the packages were just renamed?). Or something like this, sorry, can't remember exactly. Isn't there an 8.0 specific patch? -- Egad, I believe I've blown another synapse.

Markus, I think you must be mis-remembering. samba and samba-client are already split up on 8.0, and it is SuSE 8.0 patches that I am applying. Bob On Wed, 2 Apr 2003, Markus Kohli wrote:
