Hallo! Ist es moeglich, dass das Reiserfs noch keine Quotas kann ??? Zumindest meckert es ueber die option usrquota. Dann muessten ich wieder auf ext2 umsteigen um Quotas zu benutzen oder wie sehe ich das ? MfG Nico Schottelius

It's not that reiserfs can't do quotas, it's the quota subsystem in the VFS that can't do reiserfs.

Dann muessten ich wieder auf ext2 umsteigen um Quotas zu benutzen oder wie sehe ich das ?

Yes, you need ext2 to be able to use quotas. Still.

No, "reiserfs" does not support "quotas" - at least for now.

There is (IIRC) an unofficial patch which can be applied to very early versions of reiserfs 3.6.x for kernel linux-2.3. So I think it is not a very stable thing... For further information you can have a look at the reiserfs project website: http://www.devlinux.com/projects/reiserfs/ Especially the "Mail Archive" might be interesting... I set up a Linux/Samba file server a few weeks a go. We need "quota" support here and this was the reason for choosing "ext2" instead of "reiserfs". BTW: "suse-security" is an English mailing list! Sorry, didn't think about English readers. I tried to use reiserfs + quota. Could it be, that quota is currently unsupported by reisfers ? If I need quotas, do I have to turn back to ext2 ? Sincerly, Nico Schottelius
