Hello Everyone, I have recently setup a firewall box using SuSE 6.4, where the interface to the internet (eth0) gets its IP address from a DHCP server and while perusing /var/log/messages I came upon the following entries, which seem to repeat at intervals of between 20 and 90 seconds. Aug 9 13:09:43 wallaby dhclient: DHCPREQUEST on eth0 to 202.12.113.74 port 67 Aug 9 13:09:43 wallaby kernel: Packet log: input DENY eth0 PROTO=17 202.12.113.74:67 202.12.113.21:68 L=339 S=0x00 I=15633 F=0x0000 T=128 (#81) Am I correct in thinking that this means that responses from the DHCP server are being blocked by the firewall? And if so, how do I fix the problem? I already have FW_SERVICE_DHCLIENT="yes" in my /etc/rc.config.d/firewall.rc.config file and cannot think of anywhere else that I need to do anything to permit DHCP to work properly.
