Nessus, authentication problems on Suse 7.1
I installed nessus on Suse 7.1, just selected the nessus package during Suse setup, no modifications. Started nessus server with "nessusd -D", created a user with nessus-adduser, started nessus client on the same machine. Unfortunately, the nessus client can't connect to the nessus server. There are error messages "authentication failed". /var/log/nessusd.messages says "bad login attempt from 127.0.0.1". I thought it has something to do with password encryption so I added a plaintext user with nessus-adduser. In /etc/nessus/nessus.conf I set force_pubkey_auth = no, but what must I enter in the "encryption" field that is on the "nessusd host" tab of the nessus client? Anybody got it to run on Suse 7.1 and give me some hints? TIA Gerhard Hofmann
