Why isn't the telnetd update in YOU yet?
Hello, I just fired up YaST2 on my servers in order up update the telnetd, and have found that it's not in YOU yet. Is there any explanation for why it's not? Surely SuSE understands that security issues are time sensitive. ---------------------------------------------------- Jonathan Wilson System Administrator Cedar Creek Software http://www.cedarcreeksoftware.com Central Texas IT http://www.centraltexasit.com
Of course we do. Are you sure you looked right? The telnetd thing took way too long, but as you might have seen, the announcement has been available last week (http://www.suse.de/security), and if you take a closer look, the packages as well as the patch file is there. In SuSE-7.2, the in.telnetd is contained in the package telnet-server, in 7.1 it is nkitserv. Roman.
