Postfix + SASL + chroot
Hi! I tried to configure postfix within /etc/sysconfig/postfix and a later SuSEconfig --module postfix. The configuring worked but the config not. There is no word within the /etc/sysconfig/postfix, that you have to configure sasl auth by hand and like in a message on this list you will have a lot of fun chroot and saslauth! Is there any _USEFULL_ and working hint for me? Philippe P.S.: Is there any working hint for Apache2 && PHP4 for apache2, if not don't provide this modules, if they don't work together!

P.S.: Is there any working hint for Apache2 && PHP4 for apache2, if not don't provide this modules, if they don't work together! Are you sure that you used the modules designed for apache2 (apache2-mod_php4-4.3.1-24.i586.rpm) and NOT mod_php4-4.3.1-24.i586.rpm which is for apache-1.x.

I have only tested 8.2 with this stuff, but for default sasl is enabled over saslauthd with pam. So all your local users can authenticate to postfix. If something is not working, maybe you want to send us some logs or your config. -- Andreas
Hi, Afair SASL support is not compiled into the SuSE binaries. You have to compile your own postfix; see the docs in the sources for how to enable it. Details for configuring Postfix with SASL can be found in the SASL HowTos on http://www.postfix.org/docs.html . Cheers, Holger Am Sonntag, 21. September 2003 22:03 schrieb Philippe Vogel:

This is somehow strange, because that feature can be enabled within /etc/sysconfig/postfix and if something is inside this config SuSE is able to do that.

I looked within the docs of postfix and sasl2 and found it is working with postfix in the precompiled version shipped with SuSE 8.2. Philippe
