You can find the kernel update packages for 8.1 on ftp.suse.com, where the other update packages are, too. 8.0, 8.0, 7.3 and 7.2 are still in the works... The updates for 8.1 and 8.2 will be offered by YOU as soon as we're done. Current problem: NVidia hardware acceleration kernel module. Roman.

On that subject... I've had some trouble with this module (from NVIDIA's ftp site) after a kernel upgrade in the fairly recent (but distant enough to be fuzzy) past. Are the rpms from that ftp site (which are signed by build@suse.de) designed to work with any 8.1 kernel or just the one from the CDs? I've taken to building NVIDIA's .tar.gz on each machine after kernel upgrades--is there a better way to do this? Thanks. -Benjamin P. Myers

Will there be an update for ATI as well? I've seen that SuSE now has 3.2.4-BETA at supplementary/X/XFree86/ATI/suse82/fglrx. The 2.9.13 driver at the same place did not work for me. The driver fglrx-glc22-4.3.0-2.9.13.i586.rpm from ATI homepage appears to work, but are difficult to remove before a kernel update. Having SuSE rpm's would be a nice bonus. Cheers, Sigfred.
