asked to get accurate information on proxy usage based on users' ID. I've been trying "calamaris" for this task, but it seems unable to extract any info based on users (each line in the Squid logs includes the name of the user).
Any idea of what's happening? Maybe should I use another software?
From the manual: -u user: Switches the usage of eventually available ident information for requester reports on.

I posted my question because that switch (-u) did not work for me, precisely, it did nothing. You can be sure I'm not one of those that don't read the manual/FAQ before asking :) Best regards. -- | * * * * * * * * Marco Antonio Blanco | See the stars, they're shining bright (mablanco@earthling.net) | * Everything's alright tonight * | * * * * - M.L.Gore * *
To all of you that have asked me about how I authenticate my Squid users against a NT PDC, just have a look at http://www.hacom.nl/~richard/software/smb_auth.html. It's really easy to setup. BTW, smb_auth is included in SuSE Linux at least since version 6.3 and works both for Intel and Alpha (my cache server is an Alpha machine).
