Hello everyone, Please I realise this is off topic so please address your answers to me off list. Is there suse linux for sparc platform? I have a sparc box and suse is really my preferred distro so if it supports it I will be very happy to get it. Otherwise I have to use redhat.

Wooh.... this is new... I am in the same situation that I have to run RedHat on my 2 sparcs... Nice to see SuSE has finally come to the party... Now I just have to see if I can convince Everything Linux (www.everythinglinux.com.au) to order it into Australia. (I'm still waiting for my i386 version of SuSE 7.0 to hit our shores.... Hopefully I will get it this week before the whole city shuts down for the Olympics *frown*) Cheers Nix At 06:28 PM 8/31/2000 +0200, you wrote:

erm I started downloading from ftp://ftp.gwdg.de/pub/misc/sparc/suse-de-sparc yesterday. Am I right in assuming that the US version is still minus the crypto? (I currently run the UK version of 6.4 which I was sent by your marketing dept in Germany :) Cheers Nix At 12:43 PM 9/4/2000 +0200, you wrote:

This is correct.

It should be possible to make the crypto stuff downloadable from ftp.suse.de within rather short time (please give me more than a few days: heads up for glibc+screen security update!). I'm afraid that there are more important things around these busy days...

I was wondering why mirror.aarnet.edu.au (Which is Australia's largest mirror site) Only has US updates and not the full ftp distro (US or German) I WAS mirroring the whole ftp distro to ftp.jigsaw.net.au for a while, but the suse site was too slow, it was taking DAYS to mirror. (I no longer work at Jigsaw in any case..) An Australian mirror would do wonders for us down here :) It sucks having a a 2Meg link and getting a download speed < 10K/sec :( (/me wants SuSE 7.0 and /me wants it NOW!!! *grin*) Ahh well... only 3 more days till the ISO's finish ... lol Nix At 01:44 AM 9/5/2000 +0200, you wrote:
