Please log out from your window-manager session and log in again to let all applications restart and load the new code.
If you are using 'wdm' instead of the typical kdm, you need to switch to runlevel 3 and then back to 5, because wdm doesn't fully restart even after "ctrl-alt-backspace". Perhaps "rcxdm restart" would work as well.
