sorry: maybe off topic, but I am stuck: postgresql on my 8.0 box start with rcpostgresql, but on my 9.0 box it won't happen? is there some other way to start the server? regards, piet
Definitely not a security topic, but... If you look in /etc/init.d, you'll find "postgresql". You need an S and a K symlink in the proper rc?.d dir pointing to that. You can either do that manually, or use YaST2 to set that up. Kevin piet wrote:

Well, your postgres is secure - what else do you want ;-)
OT: you might try sh -x /etc/init.d/postgresql start
and take a look at the output.
