According to my log files someone has been scanning port 2301 for several weeks now on my server... I couldnt find this port in my port list so I wonder what it is used for. Thanks. /Morsal

According to my database .... Compaq Insight Manager HTTP Which recently came up on Bugtraq, it has some problems and is a nice soft target (and it gets installed by default typically).
Thanks.

This person has been bugging me for over a month now and I am considering to
report this to his ISP. I cant get it why this person has been scanning me
every 1-2 minutes for all this time....

They are looking for a recently published vulnerability in Compaq's insyte manager. (At least thats a good possibility) One of the more dependable sites for port listings is snort.org. It seems to be updated regularly. Allen -- Time is the best teacher. Unfortunately it kills all its students.
