Anybody using a ftp proxy out there My clients need to put to an external ftp site. Rather than allowing them to connect through a nat firewall I would like them to use a proxy, in a similar fashion to web proxy , for the connection and have the proxy perform the put and get on their behalf. I have come across the SuSE proxy-suite but it doesn't seem to do what I want, in that it seems to be geared for reverse proxying a ftp server. Can anybody help ? Alan Dawson
Your customer needs to connect to an external ftp-server? - Right (and they don't need to set up its own ftp server) Why not using squid?! - It works also for the ftp-protocol. -- Eat, sleep and go running, David Huecking. No it does what you want as I have been using it for a long time. Check the documentation. Your other alternative is use of squid ( if you are using it for web proxying then you already have it installed.) -- Togan Muftuoglu Unofficial SuSE FAQ Maintainer http://dinamizm.ath.cx
