Choice of ftp server
Hello list, I use SuSE Linux 8.1 and want to install a good ftp-server. What ftp-server should I use in mind of security? I would like to setup different access requirements for users on both file restrictions and OS command. After reading about ftp-server vsftpd it was easy to make my decision.
ftp.suse.com is running vsftpd, with no problem at all in 24x7 service since months. It's slightly overloaded right now due to a sync with the staging server. 2:10pm up 464 days, 8:32, 2 users, load average: 2.84, 3.26, 5.02 622 ftp users, almost 7MB/s output. It has been idle with this load for 85% of its uptime, it spends most of its cpu cycles in the driver for the raid controller. Roman.
Yeh, that was one thing I read. I also read about IBM, Red Hat and SAC security information. Ftp-server vsftpd will work fine for me I hope :-) ! Hälsningar/Regards - Tommy Rönnholm
