I am using the firewall package that came with 6.4. Neither kicq nor ICQJava can establish a connection. Both work fine when the firewall is stopped. What do I need to allow? I don't have a sniffer running, and there's no documentation about the ports that ICQ listens on. I have noticed 1067, 1069 so far. The ICQ server is at 205.188.153.100 - 205.188.153.110 (looks like) and connects on port 4000. TIA Corvin -- Corvin Russell <corvinr@sympatico.ca>

Along with the advice from Philipp Snizek and Peter Wiersig, look up http://www.e-infomax.com/ipmasq/appsup.html . There is a ipmasq module for icq there. No idea how well or if it works. John
Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will try them all, though whatever I have tried so far has not worked. There do appear to be problems with Kicq itself. E.g., inter alia, I was able to use my old ICQ#s even though i couldn't remember the passwords. Don't know where that problem lies. Best, Corvin -- Corvin Russell <corvinr@sympatico.ca>
