Very well. We use it with AntiVir, no complaints. 1.5 years in use.
I can say, I am using AMaVis together with McAfee, and I feel as safe as virus protection can do. I have maked a lille sh for opdating every night, and I have catched a lot of virus. I am running Suse pro 7.3, so go ahed. Tage Danielsen. Denmark -----Oprindelig meddelelse----- Fra: Fred A. I have just installed RAV antivirus software for sendmail. It is working great. I tried getting amavis working with antivir but just couldnt get enough documentation to get it working. rav antivirus was a snap though and using sendmail's libmilter interface there is almost zero performance loss. http://www.raeinternet.com On Monday 20 May 2002 09:34 am, Fred A. Yo lo he probado con un sendmail usando McAfee comom antivirus, y no he tenido muy buenos resultados. Funciona, pero cuando el trafico de mails infectados es muy grande deja pasar algunos. Recientemente he probado el MailScanner tambien con McAfee y parece un poco mas robusto. Solo funciona con SendMail y la configuracion no es muy dificil. JFYI, the amavis-sendmail package shipped since SuSE Pro 7.2 uses sendmail libmilter interface, too. best regards, Rainer Link (SuSE Labs) -- Rainer Link | SuSE Linux AG - The Linux Experts link@suse.de | Developer of A Mail Virus Scanner (www.amavis.org) www.suse.de | Founder OpenAntiVirus Project (www.openantivirus.org)
Hi Fred A. Miller,
Anyone been using AMaViS (virus scanning)? If so, how well does it work?
If temporary problems with it, possible it is the softlimit
in the run-script of the qmail-smtpd.
At the moment I'm interessted in a av-checking for incoming mails
I fetch via pop3 using getmail and maildrop.
Regards,
Ruprecht
