hi all, i am currently wonderung how come that users like postgres, squid, wwwrun and some other that surely will never need to login have a login shell given in /etc/passwd instead (/bin/bash instead a secure (?) /bin/false). is this only the normal and insecure configuration which can be altered by some script which i don't know? but anyway: is this necessary? is there perhaps a need for a login-shell for the programs that use these users? thanks for your help (and don't be too hard, i'm a newbie *g*) heiko
