Question about new Samba packages
Hi, Are the new samba-packages for all of the SuSE Linux versions an update of the problem reported by Bob Vickers or is this yet another security issue in the smb-packages? (I refer to the samba-2.2.5-171 package for 8.1 that is published on the site. Last known good version ought to be samba-2.2.5-160, according to the security advisory) greetings Bone Machine --- "I was all dressed in black, she was all dressed in black" - The Pixies ---
Hi !

--> You can check this yourself: rpm -q --changelog samba rpm -q --changelog samba-client The last entry in the changelog is from March 21 2003 whereas the last samba security announcement was from March 17 2003 (all on my SuSE 8.0, maybe it#s different on 8.1) If I remember well, Bob Vicker was reporting a dependency problem. This is not mentioned in the changelog but I guess it was corrected by SuSE nevertheless (as stated on this mailing list). HTH, Armin
