telnet as a root on a suse 6.3 suse server
I must be able to telnet from a terminal (not a console) as a root without using su. In solaris i could do that editing /etc/default/login file,but i can't find it on this Operating System. How can i do ? Thanks

The /etc/securetty file defines on which devices root can log in. For example: -- console tty1 tty2 tty3 tty4 ttyp0 ttyp1 ttyp2 ttyp3 ttyp4 ttyp5 ttyp6 ttyp7 pts/0 pts/1 pts/2 pts/3 pts/4 pts/5 pts/6 pts/7 -- Greetz, S.G. Zijl

Simple. Just edit /etc/rc.config. There's a line "ROOT_LOGIN_REMOTE=no". Change to yes. That's it. If you didn't disable telnet, then it should work now. Hi, how could I apply all the patch sets that are aviable to SuSE 6.4 from the download site (including KDE2 ?), do I need to de-install first the packages or just go to yast and use the install packages utility ? Thanks.
