Thanks so much for the new kernel... unfortunately, when I installed it (using rpm -F k_deflt.rpm - also did rpm -F lx_suse.rpm for source) it screwed my system... initrd was not updated and it seems that there is enough different about the way the kernel was built, that it fails to load the module for the SCSI adapter on one of my systems, and on the one that is IDE based... it fails to load the network adapter and the usbcore module, and it complains about failures when it mount /dev/pts. Did I do something wrong? Or did I miss something? - Herman

I have similar problems. I installed k_laptop.rpm (rpm -Uhv k_laptop.rpm) and get the following boot messages: | Loading module usbcore ... | insmod: usbcore: no module by that name found | ... | modprobe: modprobe: Can't locate module usbdevfs | mount: fs type usbdevfs not supported by kernel | devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw) failed Guess there are some modules missing...

No, but some device entries in /dev have changed. Please also update package "devs", which is also available on the ftp server.
