[opensuse-security] What does Firefox want from kernel modules?
Firefox wants to read /etc/modules.d/ and desperately wants access to modprobe and /sys/module/drm/initstate. For what reason? What kernel features would Firefox actively demand and enable? So far FF works without these permissions very well and I don´t want to grant them, but am curious why these requests occur.... Thanks

/sys/module/drm/initstate smells like Mesa/GL graphic acceleration for WebGL and other related 3d graphic speedups.. Otherwise I could just guess. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-security+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-security+owner@opensuse.org

True, seems to be safe to allow access!
