migrating user database from SuSE 6.4 to 7.0
Hi, I would like to migrate the user database (50 users) from my SuSE 6.4 Server to SuSE 7.0. I'm using the default SuSE password mechanism. Does anybody know some hints, tips, links or tools on how to do this ? Thanks jan.meyer

Well, if you simply upgrade your system, you shouln not face any trouble. YaST will of course preserver the user accounts and home directories. If you are doing a fresh installation, you will have to copy /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow and everything below /home. Don't forget /var/spool/mail, it's also a good idea to backup /etc/ to a tarfile since you will realize there was a config file you spent a lot of time editing and now want to copy the important bits over.
