[opensuse-security] Encrypting the root filesystem algorithm questions
Hello everyone, I stumbled upon the howto: http://en.opensuse.org/Encrypted_Root_File_System very good work, although my questions are: 1.) Is it possible to use other forms of encryption e.g. "Twofish" or "Serpent" instead of the described AES "Rijndael" ?? their is a description of this in the gentoo wiki (I know it isnt suse but for reference sake) http://gentoo-wiki.com/SECURITY_System_Encryption_DM-Crypt_with_LUKS#FAQ does suse by default support Twofish or Serpent or does one have to first recompile the default kernel and add the modules. 2.) has anyone done this ? Either the methods described in the howto or used another encryption algorithm ? Any noticeable performance losses ? 3.) I have seen in the opensuse 11.0 release notes that the default install will support encrypting the root filesystem.
