I already had set the interfaces line in smb.conf, but that didn't seem to matter. With the addition to Firewall2, everything works perfectly though.
That's right, you additional also have to set: bind interfaces only = yes You also have to include the lo interface to interfaces or else smbpasswd and swat will not function correctly. Ports 137/udp and 138/udp will still be listed as open but samba will not answer on them. The firewall solution is ofcourse more secure. -- GertJan
