You shouldn't get hunks, if you use the correct patch for the corresponding kernel version. You'll get a lot of hunks, if you try i.e. the LIDS patch on a SuSE kernel, I'm afraid. You should probably ask LIDS-related questions, in the lids-user ML, too. I used LIDS back in 1999/2000 as a friend and /me set up the german mirror for the LIDS project. But since then, a lot of has changed and I wasn't able to follow the LIDS development closely. Anyway, LIDS _should_ be available in a LSM-version, too (LSM = Linux Secure Module). LSM is mainly developed for 2.5.x kernels, but IIRC there's a backport for 2.4. So, hopefully, sooner or later, you won't have to patch the kernel, but simply use a LSM-enabled kernel and load LIDS as a kernel module. So, let's see what will happen in the future :) best regards, Rainer Link (SuSE Labs) -- Rainer Link | SuSE - The Linux Experts link@suse.de | Developer of A Mail Virus Scanner (www.amavis.org) www.suse.de | Founder OpenAntiVirus Project (www.openantivirus.org)
